Skateboarding
Sir, —I read with disquiet of the banning of a skateboard ramp from a teenager’s garden (May 25). Did the complainer review the situation and suggest any way the noise could be deadened? Did the City Council inspector offer practical help? As the boy has had to look for another site it appears that no conciliation was offered. Sounds result from the activity of the living. The dead do not hear crowing roosters, the labours of the daytime or complaints. The
worst aspect of this matter is that a teenager is being driven from his own backyard.—Yours, etc. M. A. HOGAN. May 25,1989.
