‘Underwhelmed'

Sir, — I read that the Prime Minister is “underwhelmed” about the defections from the Labour Party in the wake of Jim Anderton’s resignation. From that I can only presume he is also underwhelmed about New Zealand’s massive unemployment, his Government’s lack of economic direction, the sale of valuable assets such as Air New Zealand to overseas interests and the continuing disregard Labour has for the South Island. I wonder if he will still be underwhelmed when he and his Government lose the election next year. — Yours, etc., ROBYN ANDERSEN. April 20, 1989.
