Leads on beating
The police are following strong leads in the hunt for the assailants who beat up a man at a party in Halsweil last week-end. Detective Sergeant Neville Higgison, of the City South said the victim, aged 20, was cooperating after initially refusing to talk to the police about the bashing. The man is in hospital
with serious head injuries, a broken jaw, broken ribs and burns to the stomach. It is expected he will be there for at least another week. He was taken unconscious to hospital by two women who became alarmed when they could not revive him after he had been assaulted.
