The sunken ship

Mailbag

By

LOUISA BRYCE

aged 9, Redcliffs School Lana, Ana, Amelia and I went for a swim in the sea. We went out so deep that we couldn’t see our Mums on the beach. We went down to the bottom. Far off in the distance we could see a kind of ship-like shape. We decided to go and see what it was. When we came to the ship we couldn’t hold our breaths any longer so we all followed Ana up to the top and got a breath and

then we went back down. We went into the ship and we saw a man. It was strange because we asked him if he could breathe under water. He could! We went with him all around the ship. Amelia spotted a treasure chest. We all rushed over to it. We tried to open it but it wouldn’t budge. Suddenly the man touched "it with a long red finger. Lana whispered to me. She said that his name was probably E.T. The lid popped open. Diamonds and rubies floated all around us. We

put handfuls in our pockets. The man whistled loudly and a dolphin came whizzing around the corner and knocked me over. He picked me up and squeaked at me. 1 supposed he meant, “sorry.” We all jumped on his back and he swam to the top. We didn't have to swim back because we went on the dolphin’s back. It was a bumpy ride but it was fun. When we got back we surprised our Mums with all the jewellery. We had to give them some.
