Marshall successor?
A new All White soccer coach is expected to be appointed within four to six weeks, according to the New Zealand Football Association. John Adshead’s recent media comments have shown that he is not interested in getting the job again in spite of his successes against Australia and Israel in the last two World Cup preliminary matches. His likely successor is the Christchurch United national league coach, lan Marshall, provided the popular Scot can find time away from personal and business commitments. He had no comment to make on his availability yesterday. The cancellation of the Aston Villa visit means that no matches are scheduled for the All Whites in the immediate future. The N.Z.F.A.’s international committee will meet during the next two weeks to formulate a long-term programme for the next two to four years.
