The Balmain skipper and Kangaroo forward, Wayne Pearce, says the New South Wales Rugby .League judiciary blundered badly in banning the Kiwi halfback, Gary Freeman, for 12 matches, for eye gouging. “It s beyond comprehension how they, found .Freeman guilty,” Pearce said in yesterday's “Daily Mirror. The referee, Bill Harrigan, had a clear view of the incident involving Freeman and Newcastle’s Mark Sargent and chose not to take any action on the field, Pearce said. “Film evidence was sketchy to say the-least” —NZPA.
