More reserves wanted
The New Zealand Rugby Union is to press for an increase from two to six reserves to -be allowed on the field for internationals at next month’s International Rugby Board meeting in London. The chairman, Russ Thomas, said yesterday that although the N.Z.R.U. wanted six, it would settle for four replacements. At present, only two players can replace injured teammates during internationals, although teams are entitled to list six reserves. Rugby does not allow replacements for reasons other than injury.—PA.
