Buyers active

The Central Standardbred Agency has been active in buying horses for both North America and Australia in recent weeks.

Admiral Luca, which recorded his fifth win for the Southland. trainer, Hamish Hunter, when taking out a 2400 m mobile pace in 3:3 at the Wyndham meeting earlier this month, and the C 3 pacer, Terranium, placed at Addington last Saturday, are to be exported to North America in the next few weeks. Terranium, a six-year-old Sir Dalrae gelding, was formerly trained at Waikouaiti by Dennis O’Connell.

The C 3 Rangiora pacer, Canasta King, flew out to North America on Monday evening, along with the C 3 trotter, Newhaven, the former Canterbury mare, Dual Sticks (C 4 and the former Southland C2 pacer, Sholty’s Son. Lorcan, the winner of four races from Peter Jones’s Templeton stable, has been purchased by the Agency to do his future racing in Queensland, Australia. Others sold to Queensland clients are the Cl pacers, Surmo’s Lady and Racapo Lass, and the maiden, Swift Justice.
