Several new sections
Several new sections have been introduced to the Oxford Show this year.
A farm inventions section promises to be popular. It has attracted only four entries, but .it is expected to be well supported when it is widely known.
A Cashmere section has also been introduced to complement the mohair section. A total of 55 exhibitors have entered the mohair section and nine in the Cashmere.
A baby show is also attracting a lot of interest. A total of six classes have been introduced into the new section ranging in age from up to six months, to six years, and to 12 years. Entries are being received already, but will be taken up to 11.30 a.m. on show day. Judging will begin at noon.
Dominion Breweries
will sponsor a Tug-of-War competition and teams
are invited to enter on show day. More than 5000 entries have been received, with flower and shearing entries still to be received on show day. Entries
differ very little from previous years, except in the handcraft and photography sections where
there has been a big increase.
This year a total of 14 premier exhibit rosettes will be presented. The president Mr Melville Wells and his wife, Mrs Jeanette Wells, have presented the rosettes.
Side shows, trade exhibits and local arts and crafts will also be at the show.
