Theatre sweets

Sir,—At a time when New Zealanders are trying to keep their jobs and we are being encouraged to buy New Zealandmade products, it pains me to see that Amalgamated Hoyts Savoy Theatre sells In the sweet kiosk Australian-only products. Even the ice-cream cones are Australian! Is it that the management of this chain, being Australian themselves, think that their products are superior to the local ones or is it just their tunnel vision? The end result is the consumer being denied choice; together with the high admission cost, yet another reason to hire a video. — Yours, etc., KEITH SYCAMORE.

February 26, 1989. [This letter was referred for comment, but none has been received.]
