Woolston beaten
PA Auckland Avalon Dodgers beat Woolston Cardinals, 2-0, in a clash between two of the three unbeaten sides on the third day of the national men’s inter-club softball tournament in Auckland. The Hutt Valley side took seven hits off Jimmy Hall, with Bob Jones and Shane Nightingale batting in the runs. The Dodgers pitcher, Evan Jessup, kept Woolston to two hits, and the Christchurch side could not manage to advance any runners past second base. Northcote had an 8-1 win over Counties Royals in the Gib Board event at Lion Red Park.yesterday, taking 12 hits off Royals. The tournament ends on Sunday.
