Honda for Judge scrip
PA Wellington An optimistic Wellington Judge Corporation shareholder has found his shares are worth something after all. The man — who did not wish to be named — had been trying to sell 16,000 shares at 7c each by advertising in the for sale section of a Wellington newspaper and was almost resigned to the fact he would have to throw the share certificates in the bottom drawer. But that was until about a week ago when the seller got his first and only response to his classified advertisement that had appeared in the for sale column about two weeks before.
A week of negotiations later he is now the proud owner of a 1979
Honda Civic in average condition — part of an exchange that has left both traders happy. He handed over the-shares in part settlement for the car yesterday and paid the difference in cash. The man believes he could sell the car at auction and recoup not only his original share investment but also the cash difference. The buyer had confidence in Judge Corporation’s founder, Mr Bruce Judge, and believes in the long term the shares might again be valuable. The original shareholder bought the shares at 6c each as a post-crash Christmas present to himself, convinced their worth had fallen as far as it could. '
