In the international class, Arawa’s K 4 crew of Clarence Hines Malcolm Donaldson, Eric Leask and Brett Leask
finished third in both the 500metre and 1000 m events. Amongst top competition, Dick Boyle made the final of the international KI 500 m event but had the misfortune to pick up weed on his rudder in the KI 1000. Another Arawa club member, Ria Moch, finished first
in the international women’s 5000 m event. Donaldson and Hines combined well in the senior events winning the K2 500 and taking second place in the K2 1000. Both made the final of the KI 500, Donaldson finishing fourth. In the touring

The Leask brothers, to-
gether with Greg Bevan and lan Surgenor won both senior K 4 events, over 500 m and 1000 m. As well, the Leasks just about cleared out all the Masters (over 35) events.
