Pink Pages denies Auckland link

The company -behind Christchurch’s latest business directory, the Pink Pages, has dissociated itself from a similar Auckland firm. The managing director of Pink Pages, Mr Russell Donald, said the company had bought all shares held in the firm by its Auckland counterpart, Directory Systems, Ltd.

The Auckland firm has been involved in legal action, and has not yet produced a directory promised eight months ago.

Mr Donald said the publicity attracted by the Auckland firm had caused Pink Pages “quite a battle” in Christchurch. He had encountered resistance when asking busi-

nesses to be included in Pink Pages, because of the Auckland controversy, he said. Pink Pages became known by that trading name in September. The Christchurch directory is being printed how and should soon be delivered free to Christchurch homes and businesses. The 15,000 registered businesses in Christchurch will each get one free copy, but will have to pay for other copies. The directory will be updated twice a year. Mr Donald said there had been some delay in producing the Christchurch directory, but this was caused by “an ongoing dispute” with the Auckland firm.
