Hospital Bd Appointments | WAIKATO HOSPITAL BOARD TOKANUI HOSPITAL CLINICAL PSYCHOLOGIST - INTELLECTUAL HANDICAP THIS position is at present based at Walpa Community and Training Centre (a 350 bed unit, consisting of 11 separate residential units, workshops and training centre, at Tokanul Hospital, 10km south of Te Awamutu). Salary: $29,195 - $45,910 (merit). Primary responsibility will be to work as part of a ward team providing services to men and women with intellectual handicap who may also present significant behavioural and/or psychiatric difficulties. Planning for, and helping with the implementation of, the repatriation of these men and women Into community settings will also be expected. A further responsibility will be to help with the planning of com-munity-based support services, which are essential to preclude the need for further admissions to the hospital. DENTAL OFFICER A Registered Dental Surgeon Is required, hours negotiable. The Dental Officer is responsible to the Medical Director for the dental welfare of the hospital patients. The appointee will be responsible for the provision of Specialist Psychiatric services of the Southland Area health Board. Applicants must have a minimum of 7 years post-graduate medical experience including 5 years relevant practical experience in the speciality of Psychiatry; be a qualified Medical Practitioner registered under the Medical Practitioners Act 1968 and be registered or registrable as a Specialist Psychiatrist by the Medical Council of New Zealand.
