PA Wellington The New Zealand Cricket .Council has given up hope of restaging the abandoned first test against Pakistan later in the tour. The N.Z.C.C. has acknowledged that there was no chance of fitting the test — washed out at Dunedin last week-end — into the itinerary. The main reason given by the N.Z.C.C. was Pakistan’s refusal to accept changes to the agreed itinerary. Both the Pakistan and New Zealand camps had indicated an unwillingness to fiddle with the planned programme for the tour.
