Van Basten awarded
NZPA-AFP Paris The Dutch soccer international, Marco Van Basten, has been named European footballer of the year and awarded the “Ballon d’Or” by the weekly magazine “France Football.” Van Basten’s Dutch and Milan AC colleagues, Ruud Gullit and Frank Rijkaard, came second and third.
