$130M T-bill tender
PA Wellington The Reserve Bank will sell $l3O million of 90-day regular maturity Treasury' bills in tender 201 scheduled for today. The bank said it intended to sell additional bills maturing at the same time seasonal Treasury bills would be offered in the tender.
Treasury bill tenders are normally held on Tuesdays.
To ensure the maturities of the regular maturity Treasury bills sold in the tenders occur on the Wednesdays as usual, 90day bills will be offered in both tender 201 and tender 202 January 4.
The bank said a small net cash injection to the banking system was forecast over the week December 28 to January 3. The major injections in the week included Social Welfare payments, maturity Treasury bill settlements, and maturing sellback agreements.
Cash withdrawals from the banking system would probably be required in open-market operations on at least two of the three working days between December 28 and January 3.
