Hunt in underworld
PA Auckland Thirty detectives and support staff were concentrating on the criminal element of the North Shore yesterday in their hunt for the killers of a Northcote motelier, Mr Rex Bell. Mr Bell, aged 56, died after he was shot at close range in the front room of his Northcote motel by masked intruders more
then a week ago. "While keeping an open mind, I tend to think that the offenders live in the area,” said Detective Inspector John Hughes, who heads the investigation into the killing.
Forensic examination of the motel ended late last week with many exhibits being sent to the D.S.I.R.
