Woman dies after fall
An Auckland woman, aged 39, died . in hospital late yesterday afternoon after falling about 150 metres from a cliff at Orton Bradley Park at Charteris Bay about 2 p.m. She was: Kay Gosnell. Lyttelton St John Ambulance and the Diamond Harbour Fire Service took the badly injured
woman back up the cliff. Bystanders helped in the cliff rescue. Rescuing the woman, who had serious head and internal injuries, took about 222y 2 hours. The woman was flown by helicopter to Hagley Park, and an ambulance took her to Christchurch Hospital. She died about 5.15 p.m.
