Police investigate fire

A fire in a two-storey New Brighton house late last evening is being investigated by the police. The Fire Service said the house, in Estuary Road, suffered moderate damage. It is believed nobody was in the building when the fire began. Earlier in the evening, fire-fighters were called to the G.U.S. Wholesalers warehouse in Chappie Place where a large stack of pallets, on which boxes or crates are stacked, was ablaze. The fire spread to the warehouse and caused slight damage.
