Minbar Lee suffers setback

Special correspondent

Auckland

The brilliant but unsound trotter Minbar Lee recently suffered another injury which will this time see her sidelined for two months. Her trainer, Bernie Hackett, said yesterday that Minbar Lee injured her near front tendon and will be spelled for at least two months.

“It’s a shame, really, because she was starting to come up very well,” he said. “The tendon threatened to bow completely and rather than risk breaking her down we thought it best to turn her out.”

Prasutaquo, one of the more promising northern trotters last season, made a winning debut in Australia last Friday. Although Prasutaquo is

still owned by Messrs Gilbert Myles, Paul Kenny and Mrs Birdie Dwyer, he is trained in Sydney by the leading horseman David Aiken. At Harold Park Prasutaquo (5-to-4 on favourite) started from 10 metres and won easing down by 15 metres from another former New Zealander, Navi Dee. The third horse was no fewer than 98 metres back.
