Gisborne centenary
Sir, —I am writing a history of Catholic education in Gisborne to mark the centenary in 1993. As there are very large gaps of information, photographs and written material, such as letters and journals, for most of this period, especially in the years before the 19505, I would appreciate it if anyone with any information would contact me (Campion College, Private Bag, Gisborne). Descendants of any person who went to the Sisters of Mercy School before 1904, St Dominic or St Mary’s Schools under the Sisters of St Joseph or those of the Marist Brothers’ School (including Edmund Campion College) or those who attended these schools themselves may have interesting and valuable information. I am particularly in the more
personal human side of school life during this period. All material will be carefully used and originals returned. — Yours, etc.,
B. MAGUIRE, Campion College, Gisborne. December. 2, 1988.
