N.Z. aid for Armenia
New Zealand will give $50,000 for earthquake victims in the Soviet Republic of Armenia, the Prime Minister, Mr Lange, said yesterday. The grant will be made to the League of the Red Cross and Red Crescent societies in response to an appeal launched by the Soviet Red Cross. “This official Government grant, added to the announced contributions from the New Zealand Red Cross and the Dairy Board’s subsidiary company Sovenz, brings New Zealand’s total contribution so far to $100,000,” Mr Lange said.—PA.
