NZPA Hyderabad The New Zealand cricket captain, John Wright and the star bowler, Richard Hadlee, top the team averages for the first-class matches on the tour of India. The tourists played six first-class games on • tour, including three tests and Wright and Hadlee, the most experienced players in the party, were comfortably the leading performers with the bat and ball. Wright scored 355 runs including two centuries, at an average of 44.37 while Hadlee took 27 wickets at a splendid 11.37, more than twice the number of wickets taken by the next most successful, John Bracewell.
