Hands-on Plunket

Lord Plunket, whose grandparents gave the family name to the Plunket Society, got hands-on experience of Plunket work at the Plunket-Karitane family unit at Wellington yesterday. Lord Plunket’s grandfather was the sixteenth Governor of New Zealand, from 1904 until 1910, when his grandmother helped form the society with the founder, Sir Frederic Truby King. His grandfather also donated the Plunket Shield cricket trophy. The present Lord and Lady Plunket are on a private visit. They have lived most of the last 30 years in Zimbabwe. —PA.
