Bus tenders lost

Marlborough’s four school bus operators may have lost their businesses after the latest round of tenders called by the Wellington Education Board. Bus routes began to be put up for tender last year when the Government deregulated the school transport system. Late last week Marlborough’s four operators were officially notified that they had lost 21 of the 22 runs now held. In all cases, operators from outside the province had submitted lower tenders. — PA.
