Auditioning Misty Lady, a cat, for the Court Theatre’s production of a Peter Shaffer comedy, “Lettice and Lovage,” yesterday was one of the play’s stars, Elizabeth Moody. The play calls for a large furry cat to appear for 20 minutes. Three Persian cats were auditioned. Misty Lady was chosen as an understudy to a cat called Minty. The cats required no acting skills. The main quality needed is docility — the cats should not suffer stagefright, nor should they flinch from applause. “Lettice and Lovage” will run for four weeks from October 22.
