Yaldhurst EVA seminar

Dr Peter Timoney, of the University of Kentucky, will take part in a seminar at the Yaldhurst Hotel at 8 p.m. on Sunday to discuss the EVA (equine viral arteritis) problem and the effects of Government restrictions on the importing of horses to New Zealand.

Dr Timoney will arrive in New Zealand tomorrow and while in the country he will meet with breeders, industry representatives and Ministry of Agriculture and Fisheries personnel before visiting Australia to conduct similar discussions.

It is hoped that Dr Timoney’s discussions with Government representatives in New Zealand and Australia will be of assistance in relaxing the restrictions currently applying to the importation of horses from North America.
