Horse Trials results at Lowcliffe
The newly formed Ashburton Horse Society’s Horse Trials Group held its first one-day event last Sunday on a property at Lowcliffe. The dressage began at 8.30 a.m., in fine weather, in order to get through the big number of entries. The leader in the open horse section after the dressage section was The Trickster, ridden by Rhonda Cobley, of Christchurch, followed by Astra and Paul Sharp, of Dunedin. After the cross-country rounds, the over-all winner was Sherrie Gallagher and Janone, with The Trickster second and Golden Ribbon, ridden by Vanessa Borcorsky, of Murchison, third. The novice section was won by Katherine WardSmith and Kuai, with a final score of 33.65 points, adding only 0.4 of a time fault to her dressage' mark. Second was Mrs B. Ritchie, of Marlborough*, with
Joshua, finishing on a total of 40 points, and third was R. Wilding, on Shamrock, on 41. The training-horse class was won by Julie Srhoy, on Mr Quinn, who finished on a dressage score of 32.
