Downriver Race Clinic
Donald Johnston, the national slalom canoeing champion, and Andrew Martin, a national downriver race champion, will host coaching clinics in Christchurch this week-end. The Downriver Race Clinic has been organised in response to interest from local triathletes as the summer season approaches. The skills-based slalom clinic for wh'itewater paddlers is also expected to be popular. A spokesman for the organiser, Topsport, said that such skills-based clinics were essential for developing improved river technique, and that even recreational paddlers could benefit from such clinics.
