No move—Kirwan
PA Wellington The brilliant All Black wing, John Kirwan, confirmed yesterday he was not interested in switching to rugby league — at least in the near future. The English club St Helens is prepared to make a £140,000 ($NZ372,000) bid for the gifted right wing, however Kirwan who scored 10 tries in five tests this season against Wales and Australia — has put offers on hold. ' . T “I am not interested in changing at the moment. 1 don’t want to live in the United. Kingdom right now, but that is not to say I won’t do it some time in the future, he said yesterday. . Kirwan was the subject of speculation on a transfer to the Australian club Penrith during the All Blacks recent tour of,Australia. The St Helens coach, Alex Murphy, said he would talk with Kirwan in the near future. “We have been interested in him for quiet a while. We want the world s best at our club.”
