Prison escaper recaptured
An escaper from Addington Prison was recaptured north of Kaikoura on Monday evening. Shane Terrence Fox was returned to Christchurch and appeared on Tuesday in the District Court charged with escaping. He had failed to return from
week-end leave from the prison. Constable Gerry Hailes, of Kaikoura, said he recovered a car which had been unlawfully taken from Christchurch on Sunday about 4km south of Kaikoura on Monday
: afternoon. Early on Monday evening a station waggon was taken from Kaikoura and recovered ! later in the evening in the i Clarence Bridge area, i Two people were found on the highway about ’ I.skm north of the car. One was Fox.
