Rugby Union launches Visa
NZPA Wellington The Rugby Union Foundation broke new ground this week when it became the first sports organisation in New Zealand to launch its own Visa credit card. The income-generating Affinity Visa card is the
first of its kind in New Zealand and offers similar facilities to other credit cards. The foundation’s president, Sir Russell Pettigrew, said the steady income generated from the card would meet the foundation’s need for a permanent income base.
Affinity cards are gaining popularity with sports, recreations, arts and welfare organisations internationally. Interest of 17.9 per cent will be charged on outstanding balances. The new card will also pay 8 per cent interest on any credit balance.
