Broker's eyes on Chch
Forsyth Barr, the Dunedin sharebroker, is losing one of its main partners, Mr Brian Kreft, but it may be Christchurch’s gain.
Mr Eion Edgar, principal of Forsyth Barr, said yesterday that Mr Kreft had not finalised his new job yet, but it would be in Christchurch in the corporate and banking area
rather than in fund raising and floats. Mr Kreft became so successful in investing in shares while a St Kilda milkman that he ended up joining Forsyth Barr, staying with the firm for 12 years, the last six as a principal and director of the firm. His expertise was in organising new floats.
He had been with Forsyth Barr for 12 years, the last six as a partner, principal, and director of the firm. Mr Kreft was in the United States on business for Forsyth Barr and would be leaving the firm at the end of this month, Mr Edgar said.
