Stroll cancelled The British Prime Minister’s visit yesterday to Sydney’s Darling Harbour was loudly disrupted by about 150 demonstrators, protesting against Britain’s involvement in Northern Ireland and clampdown on homo-
sexuality. Mrs Thatcher’s planned stroll around Darling Harbour was cancelled after she was jostled by crowds in Melbourne on Wednesday. Yesterday she left the Powerhouse Museum via a back exit to avoid the. loud demonstrations.— Sydney.
Fiji inflation Fiji’s inflation rate soared to 11 per cent in the year to July 31 compared to 2.9 per cent the year before. The Bureau of Statistics forecast inflation of 14 per cent by the end of December.—Suva.
