Derelict house gutted
A derelict house on Gasson Street, Sydenham, was fully ablaze by the time the Fire Service was called to the site at 10.40 p.m. yesterday.. According to one of the firemen at the site, the, house was being used as a storage building by a car wrecking firm. Although the fire was spectacular at its peak, the Fire Service soon had the flames under control. Little remained of the building by the
time the flames were put out.
Two fire appliances attended the fire. The cause of the fire was still not known early this morning.
