She said there was a limit to the top end of the market. j The Avon, on the 'banks of the river in the northeast corner of the inner city, has recently completed a $150,000 addition to its facilities — a new
conference venue. It already has three conference rooms but felt the need to double that. New Zealand's perception of Christchurch as an ideal conference venue prompted the decision. It has also embarked on a renovation of its older I conference rooms. I The construction of the I new facilities began in December last year and : its first function was hosted last month. It offi- ; cially opened yesterday. Ms Sutton said that inI corporating conference facilities was growing I among hotels in New Zealand.
