cluded band saws, electric skill saws, compressors, chain-saws and drills. • Thieves stole 100 litres of diesel fuel from I an excavator parked at Candy’s Bend, lin Otira Gorge, on Saturday night. The excavator, belonging to Williams 'Crushed Metal, of Greymouth, was being used by the Ministry of works to clear debris from the slip-prone bend, near the! foot of the zig-zag through the gorge. During Saturday night offenders smashed a window and stole a pair of I ear-muffs, a ! fire . extinI guisher and tlie fuel.
