ABC threatens action
PA i Sydney The Australian Broadcasting Corporation yesterday threatened legal action against | the Auckland Commonwealth Games organising committee for selling Australian television rights for the 1990 games to a rival network. The ABC’s managing director, Mr David Hill, claimed the ABC had a binding contract for the games coverage, although the games organisers dispute this. Mr Hill said the ABC would enforce the contract and launch legal proceedings today. .. [ : I It seemed the organising committee had succumbed to an offer of more money from Channel Nine, with the prospect of having corporate advertising as part of the package. '
