the diocese will gather to celebrate Mass at 7.30 p.m. The preacher will be Monsignor James Harrington, the parish priest at Mairehau. The singing will be led by a choir from St Gregory’s Church in Bishopdale, where Bishop Hanrahan was parish priest before being appointed the sixth Catholic Bishop of Christchurch. Bishop Meeking is attending a meeting of the Secretariat in Rome, and will return to Christchurch in the middle of February.
