Town Planning Town and Country Planning Act 1977 Christchurch City Council District Planning Scheme PROPOSED CHANGES 18, 19 AND 20 THE CHRISTCHURCH CITY COUNCIL has prepared Changes 18,19 and 20 to its District Planning Scheme. The nature of the Changes is as follows: NO. 18: OLD CHRISTCHURCH 'GIRLS’ HIGH SCHOOL ADDITION TO CULTURAL 1 ZONE In order to accommodate the range of community and educational uses wanting space in the Cultural 1 zone, and in order to extend the useful life of the buildings on the Old Girls’ High School site Including the historic portions, it is proposed to rezone this site, Cultural 1. Only part of the former site is proposed to be included in the Cultural zone, the balance is to be cleared of buildings and developed for RSA uses. NO. 19: CRESSWELL AVENUE, ALTERATION TO SECONDARY ROAD CLASSIFICATION Cresswell Avenue east, between Gayhurst Road and New Brighton Road is classified as a Secondary road although it is a less direct road alignment. Cresswell Avenue west is a more direct route on this side of Burwood Park, therefore this portion is better suited to a Secondary road classification than Cresswell Avenue east. NO. 20: UPLIFT ROAD WIDENING MERIVALE LANE (WINCHESTER STREET/PAPANUI ROAD) Due to existing and proposed traffic management measures the land is not longer required for on-street parking or traffic safety.
