Ryan third in marathon

NZPA Hong Kong New Zealand marathon runner, Kevin Ryan, finished third in the Hong Kong International Marathon in a time of two hours, 24 minutes 52 seconds on Sunday. Ashburton’s wheelchair athlete Allan Parish crossed the finish line with Hill and about 70 minutes slower than his personal best. The Able-bodied Englishman, Jones,, with a personal best time of 2:9.24, approached the race as a preparatory run for an Olympic trial.

He twisted his left knee in 1985 and has had three operations since.
