Hamilton’s water best

PA Hamilton Hamilton’s water engineer, Mr Bob Sang, is not taking a taste test which judged Hamilton’s water the best in the country too seriously. "I think it was a bit of a fun thing really,” he said commenting about a sampling test run by an Auckland paper. “The taste of water is a subjective thing. You might like a certain water and other people might not like it.”

Mr Sang said he had spent a lot of time in the Gisborne area and liked the water there more than the water in Hamilton. “It’s a fairly hard water whereas the Waikato River water is softer. “We have got people here from Wellington who say our water doesn’t taste right.” Mr Sang said all the water supplies in New Zealand were of a good quality.
