Pets given chance of top honours

Children who think that Christchurch’s top dog is living in the kennel in their own back yard will have the chance to put their pets to the test during a series of pet dog parades next week. The New Zealand Kennel Club is running the parades to give children under 12 years the chance to have fun with their pet doss. The club has adopted the theme “Towards more responsible dog ownership, ” and the competi-

At each of the four parades in Christchurch, 10 finalists will be chosen to take part in _the “Champ” Southern Classic Dog Show, at the Riccarton Racecourse, on February 20. The preliminary events are: Northlands Shopping Mall, January 27, 2 p.m.; Riccarton Mall, Januaiy 28, 2 p.m.; New Brighton Mall, January 29, 2 p.m.; Linwood City Mall, January 30, 2 p.m.
