Priority dispute delays ferry
The Cook Strait ferry Arahura sailed one and a half hours late last evening, after union members refused unbooked transport trucks priority over unbooked cars. The Blenheim branch secretary of the N.U.R., Mr Brian Cameron, said about 35 unbooked cars had arrived by 3 p.m. yesterday to wait for a 7.45 p.m. sailing. Union members were later told to give priority to unbooked trucks, some of which had arrived as
late as 7 p.m., Mr Cameron said.
