Rangiora inquiries

The Ashburton racing rider, Mark Barnsley, was fined $lOO when found guilty of a charge of careless riding at the North Canterbury meeting at Rangiora on Saturday. Barnsley, riding Moderation in the Continental Caterers Handicap, was found to have allowed his mount to move outwards thus jostling Sparkling Eyes and Hurunui 600 m out.

Grant Davison (Impound), which was on the outside of these horses at the time, was also charged but was given the benefit of the doubt after all the evidence had been heard.
