Stones, eggs fly at rally
NZPA-Reuter Masan, South Korea The South Korean opposition leader, Kim Dae Jung, was pelted with stones, eggs and empty bottles yesterday as violence again disrupted a Presidential campaign rally. As Mr Kim spoke to about 3000 people at Masan in the south-east, hundreds of youths chanted the name of Kim Young Sam, his rival in this month’s Presidential poll, and hurled missiles towards the stage. Some of the protesters burned campaign posters. Masan is Kim Young Sam’s political stronghold. More than 10 people were injured after rival supporters of the two Kims clashed.
