Burglar flees Linwood house

A burglar fled through the back door of a Linwood house yesterday after its occupant returned home. The incident occurred in Marlborough Street about 11.10 a.m. The police searched the area without success. Senior-Sergeant Rob Pope said the offender was a European man aged in his late teens, wearing a ' grey sweatshirt and black trousers. He was carrying a black bag. • Woodwork tools valued at $4OOO were stolen in a burglary of a Shakespeare Road business on Tuesdav nieht.

The offenders entered the Waltham premises of Woodwork Tooling by forcing a door.
