Crash victim flown to Chch
A West Coast youth was flown to Christchurch on Saturday with spinal injuries after his car left the road south of Whataroa. Brent Arnold, aged 17, was in a comfortable condition in the Burwood Hospital spinal unit last .evening. The youth was found by his
friends at 5 a.m. on Saturday, several hours after the accident was believed to have occurred. Because of the pain he was having in his head, neck and back his friends decided against moving him and called a doctor and ambulance to the scene. He was then flown from
Whataroa to Greymouth, where he was transferred to an R.N.Z.A.F. Friendship. The Friendship arrived at Wigram airbase at •6.10 p.m. and the youth was taken by ambulance to Christchurch Hospital. He was later transferred to the spinal unit at Burwood Hospital.
